FaceSwap & Face Generator

Specialized Tools: FaceSwap and Face Generator

This lesson covers tools for creating and maintaining consistent character faces across all your content.

FaceSwap: Replacing Faces in Images

FaceSwap is a fundamental tool in ZenCreator. Its purpose is to replace faces in images (and in some modes, effectively transfer the entire head).

This tool is especially important when working with models like SDXL or Flux, because these models often struggle to maintain consistent faces from frame to frame.

Main FaceSwap Modes

1) Only Face

This mode changes only the face oval area:

  • Hair usually remains unchanged
  • Neck and rest of head are not affected
  • Only the "face mask" is corrected (eyes, nose, lips, face shape)

2) Full Face and Full Face (Visual Poses)

We recommend Full Face as the main mode for "90% of use cases". It transfers not just the face but almost the entire head:

  • Face
  • Hair/head contour
  • Overall "head" part of the character

Resolution: 2K vs 4K

Despite the temptation to always work "bigger and better," we recommend choosing 2K more often because:

  • The mode is more stable
  • Fewer artifacts and unexpected shifts

Face Generator: Quick Face Creation

The Face Generator tool is designed to quickly generate a quality character face that can then be:

  • Used as the "reference face" for the model
  • Applied in FaceSwap for face replacement
  • Included in other pipelines (when the character needs to be recognizable frame to frame)

Choosing the "Main Face" for Your Character

Generated faces may look similar "at first glance," but they have differences. Therefore, it's important to:

  • Choose one face as the primary reference
  • Ideally, a frame where the face is shown fully and straight
  • Use it as a stable reference for generations and face swaps

Remember that faces can also be created through Text-to-Image: simply describe the portrait (age, appearance type, eye color, hairstyle, etc.) and the model will account for these parameters.
